2. What is a school with a lineage?

The Hermetic Order of the Temple of Starlight® is a Western Mystery school. The school has a direct lineage to the Order of the Golden Dawn.

What is a Western Mystery school?

At a Western Mystery school you learn how to use and experience the western methods of spiritual development that were passed down from ancient sources by mouth to ear, from one generation of initiates to the next generation.

What is the lineage?

The lineage is the initiatory line of high initiates who have passed their rank of initiation on to the next generation. This ensures a line of qualified teachers who answer to the highest accounting standards.

What is the Order of the Golden Dawn?

The Golden Dawn was a Hermetic Order that was active at the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century. Various Western Mystery schools sprung from the Golden Dawn.

Training at our school will give you access to deep layers of spiritual knowledge. This knowledge has been passed down through secret orders by an efficacious system ‘from Mouth to Ear’. Studying at our school you will be taught in in the same way, and depending on your talent and dedication, you can gradually work your way up to the highest degrees of initiation.

The lineage, that has been passed on to Ina Cüsters-van Bergen by Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki, goes back in time through W.E. Butler, Dion Fortune and Dr Moriarty to the Stella Matituna Lodge of the Order of the Golden Dawn that was run by Moina Mathers. The Golden Dawn was the result of a merging of forces of high adepts of the Rosicrucian and the Freemasons.
As a student of the Hermetic Order of the Temple of Starlight, you too can become an initiate of this lineage.
You learn from Ina Cüsters-van Bergen, from the temple’s initiates, from your supervisors and from your fellow students. Within our Order you become a part of a 'Body of Knowledge', gaining access to an international circuit of highly educated and highly sensitive people who work actively at their spiritual development.

You become part of the ‘energy field’ of people dedicated to the pursuit of spiritual knowledge and the application of this knowledge in practice and in daily life.

3. Become a Priest-Magician and practice White Spiritual Magic

The Temple of Starlight® is a modern Western Mystery school which gives training in the Ancient Mysteries. The form of training is the Western equivalent to Eastern yoga systems.

You learn the system underlying the spiritual exercises of many cultures of the world and of all ages. The red thread of the teachings is the Qabalistic Tree of Life.
You learn how to meditate, guided visualisation (so-called pathworkings), physical exercises, breathing exercises, prayer, mudra, sigils, contemplation and ritual.
You study ancient sciences such as Alchemy, Astrology and Magic that were taught at the universities until the age of enlightenment;
You learn to practice pre-Christian religions that form the basis of our western culture; the cultural heritage of Egypt, Babylon, Greece, Rome, the Celts, the pre-Christian Jewish Tradition. You also learn to apply Christian Gnostic knowledge.
You learn how the tarot, the angelic law, healing techniques, aura reading and many more techniques used today are part and parcel of one overall spiritual system.

4. What’s in it for me?

You learn the techniques used by people for many centuries to stay psychically and physically healthy, how to keep your social environment healthy and how to cultivate spiritual experiences in a natural way.

5. Archaic Methods and ancient techniqes

Aren't these techniques outdated?

No, on the contrary: modern-day sciences such as psychology and psychiatry frequently use techniques like hypnotherapy and NLP which are in fact very old techniques in disguise.

Who are our students?

The greatest challenge is to obtain high-quality input. As a member of the Hermetic Order of the Temple of Starlight®, you will have the opportunity to train and work towards your degrees under the personal supervision of trained initiates. You will be trained in an age-old lineage of initiates.

This does not hold back people to choose for a spiritual life.
Many people want to develop their talents further and may benefit greatly from the energy and miracles that magical training brings into their life. Finding the right source of learning however can be a real problem.

Problems that many spiritual people have are:

There comes a time that they hit a ‘glass ceiling’ and are unable to get past the obstacles on their path on their own or just with the help of books; or
They cannot find the right people to teach them anything really new. Without new challenges, their passion for learning starts to dry up, or
Their heightened sensitivity brings them into conflict with the demands made on them in the everyday world; or

7. What are the three most important secrets of a healthy spiritual development?

1. Make sure that you are taught in the lineage of a living tradition.
It is important that the transfer of knowledge is from master to student. This ensures that what you are taught is based on the knowledge and experience of someone who knows the entire road.

2. Take care that you learn within an organisation.
If you try to learn by books, and doing exercises at home alone, you will quickly come up against your own boundaries.Being a member of an organisation lets you tap into the energy field of the knowledge that the organisation is based on. In this way you learn faster and more.

3. Make a long-term investment;
invest your resources in a way that they keep working for you in the long run. We are all limited time-wise and money-wise. Don’t waste your time discovering new tops of icebergs. Leaning as part of a tradition will let you connect the dots of the greater picture,. You will gain access to the energy fields behind the knowledge. 8. Open the doors to your Inner Temple:

The First Door involves you into the work of the Temple: if the idea of working in a group appeals to you, and are you prepared to travel, you are probably a good candidate for the Temple Training.

The Second Door emphasizes the idea of spiritual development within yourself by means of meditation exercises. If this appeals to you, you are probably a good candidate for the Solo Magical Training.

The Third Door will lead you to a combination of the above?

You can attend courses or weekend trainings without being a member of the Order, and in this way work together with students and initiates of the order, learning from them.

You can become a member of the Temple and attend the Temple Training. Here you will learn as a group, practicing meditation and other exercises together. You will learn to practice ritual and receive mouth-to-ear training. It is possible to attend some classes as a guest to get to know the Order.

If you already have a meditation discipline, you can enter into our programme for advanced students. During this intensive programme you will be working in your own tempo at your meditation programme, assisted by a personal supervisor.

By doing the courses you practice yourself to become a Priest-Magician and practicioner of White Spiritual Magic. You can combine elements of the above. And you can also become a supervisor or an initiate yourself … the teachings of the Order of the Exalted Land turn you into a Priest-Magician.
