In 2007, Ina Cüsters-van Bergen wrote the weekend-Temple Retreat titled ‘Anubis, Guide through the Shamans Gate”.
This intensive magical work consisted of a series of rituals designed to connect those taking part with the Death, Resurrection and Ascension of Osiris. Anubis was our guide on this road of magical transformations. This workshop proved to be an intense and powerful magical experience for all participants, and set in motion strong currents of magical energy on their Inner Levels. Anubis as the Shaman’s guide led us on a journey over the Shaman’s paths of ancient Egypt, and taught us the secrets of the Phoenix of On.

you will work with ancient Egyptian myths and magical texts and
- You will work with the seven stages of transformation that are crucial to achieve effective and stable magical effects.
- You will pass the magical Tests of the Elements, that will open for you the doors to the Higher Contacts.
- You will learn to recite the Hekau – the magical words – and “Enchant the Heavens and the Earth, the Abyss, the Mountains and the Sea”.
- You will work with a combination of Heka (human magic) and Achu (divine magic).
I recall the first time these intriguing chants were intoned during the opening ritual, which sent shivers up my spine and brought tears to my eyes. Chanting them yourself, or receive the power that is raised by the calls is an awesome experience, which is quite difficult to describe. To receive this energy is as if your entire being, the body included, starts to resonate with the multiple vibrations that this technique is generating. I myself have also intoned several calls, and interestingly I quickly felt 'someone' taking over my voice to intone the sometimes impossible sounds of the mantras. We all noticed how much energy is raised by this.

During this intensive weekend Temple Retreat
you will practice advanced magical techniques in a beautiful decorated temple, and experience the beauty and the true Art of Magic. You will contact the ancient Egyptian Gods on both a personal and an archetypical level. This Temple Retreat will challenge your magical abilities and propel you to higher areas magically, emotionally, intellectually and physically.
Preparing yourself for the event
As in the previous Temple Trainings you will be asked to prepare for the event by meditation and arranging a number of small magical implements to be used at the workshop. Bring black robes and slippers, a red cord, and a terra cotta bowl, as well as writing material.

Temple Retreat Location & Cost
The fee for the Temple Retreat of € 385.00 (€ 375.00 for members of the Hermetic Order of the Temple of Starlight) includes teaching and participation in this fully-catered workshop, and a two-person room in the monastery Onze Lieve Vrouwe ter Duinen, at Ossendrecht, the Netherlands. A limited number of single rooms are available on a first come first serve basis at an extra charge of € 25.00.
Early birds who book and submit full payment of the Temple Retreat before 1 February 2011 will receive an additional discount of € 35.00.
Registration is from 19.00 o ‘clock on Friday 6th may 2011 and the Temple Retreat will start at 20.00 o’clock. It will finish around 17.00 o’clock on Sunday 8th May. Travel details will be provided upon booking.

Ina Cüsters-van Bergen is a Third Degree Adept and the Director of Studies of the Hermetic Order of the Temple of Starlight. Ina is the author of the book ‘The Temple of High Magic’ and of the 5 year study course ‘The Order of the Exalted Land’ of the Hermetic Order of the Temple of Starlight.
